Grief and Glory
Grief and Glory
2019

This work is An ode to Black and brown transgendered women who are killed in the USA, the triceratops head dress that devours the head of this figure is a metaphor for the archaic and toxic masculinity that engenders violence. The upheld arms are at once a gesture of surrender and blessing, extended with stigmata like jeweled palms and penis hiding behind a jeweled codpiece. The figure floats atop water with lotus’s a testament to the magic and vulnerability of their existence.
