Collapsing popular culture and Hindu/Muslim mythology into the subversive form of a gender queer South Asian dancer, this work documents modern explorations of sexuality in my queer community. The moon as penis, with star masquerading as a disco ball, blue hair like clouds, this figure embodies the campy romantic aspirations to exaggerated sexualized femininity common in Bollywood cinema. It is a composite portrait of two friends.
